SALLY JEAN is coming to FOUND

Before I opened FOUND, part of my plan was to eventually offer workshops and special events featuring artists who use found objects in their work.  2 years later... we're starting at the top!  I can hardly believe that Sally Jean Alexander is coming to FOUND in September. Artist and author of Pretty Little Things. just start at the very beginning....

ok, so i decided to set up a blog about my little shop...and i haven't the slightest idea how to proceed, except that i need to start at the very beginning, and i'll probably learn what i need to know as i go along.

i spent 15 minutes picking out a background template, then typed my first entry...then somehow lost it while i was trying to figure out how to add pictures.  so here we go again.  now i know to press save at the bottom before i go looking around in other areas.  see, i'll probably learn what i need to know...

what i DO know is that i have a terrific little shop in the Historic Kerrytown District of ann arbor, michigan.  it's called FOUND and the name fits.  we have vintage merchandise that i find at auction and estate sales, plus the work of about a dozen artists who use found, recycled and vintage materials.  throw in a nice selection of candles and home goods that are a bit different than what everybody else has and other fun things that i just happen to like and you have a happy combination of old,new and artisan finds!  our website launched a couple months ago - www.foundgallery.com - and shows a smidgen of what one might find at FOUND. 

so that's the start of my blog.  i won't attempt to add photos til the next post.  i'll just push the button and see what happens next......
